West Sussex County Council
West Sussex county covers an area of 769 sq.miles. It is bordered by Hampshire to the west, Surrey to the north and East Sussex and Brighton & Hove to the east.
The county is home to the UK’s second largest airport, London Gatwick, and we have excellent connections to London, Brighton, and the Portsmouth/Southampton conurbation. We have some of the UK’s most outstanding and innovative businesses and West Sussex is a popular visitor destination for both national and international visitors.
Our resident population is around 900,000 and our economy is worth £27 billion. Over 379,000 people work in over 42,000 businesses. We have some of the UK’s most outstanding natural assets, including much of the South Downs National Park, making our county well-positioned to taking a leading role in the development of the green economy.
We have five ambitions to maximise the opportunities of our location and our economic attributes:
The county owns a range of land assets that offer investors unique opportunities to do business in the Gatwick Region Airport Economic Zone. We will showcase some of these opportunities at the Gatwick Region stand at UKREiiF 2025. We look forward to seeing you there.
